Welcome to Royal City Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kids Classes!
At Royal City Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we're passionate about nurturing the next generation of martial artists. Our kids martial arts classes are designed to not only teach self-defense techniques but also to instill confidence, discipline, and respect in young minds.
Our Approach
We understand that every child is unique, which is why our kids martial arts program is built on a foundation of positive reinforcement, encouragement, and fun. Through age-appropriate instruction and engaging activities, we aim to create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.
What We Offer
Expert Instruction: Our team of experienced instructors are not only skilled martial artists but also passionate educators who are dedicated to helping children reach their full potential.
Life Skills Development: In addition to learning self-defense techniques, children in our classes will also develop valuable life skills such as confidence, discipline, focus, and respect for themselves and others.
Physical Fitness: Our classes provide a fun and effective way for children to stay active and healthy, helping them develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness.
Bullying Prevention: We believe that every child has the right to feel safe and respected. Through role-playing, discussions, and practical strategies, we empower children with the knowledge and skills to effectively deal with bullying situations.
Our Curriculum
Our kids' martial arts curriculum is carefully structured to provide a well-rounded education in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, focusing on:
Basic Techniques: Children will learn fundamental Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques in a safe and controlled environment, building a solid foundation for their martial arts journey.
Drills and Games: We incorporate fun drills, games, and exercises into our classes to keep children engaged and motivated while reinforcing important concepts and skills.

Rob Veltman has been practicing the grappling arts for over 40 years. He started wrestling at the age of 8 and continued that sport through to the end of high school. Afterwards he continued to help coach his high school team and was awarded the Barry Hardman Award for contributions to G.D.H.S. Athlectics.
Rob then went on to start practicing Judo and, through this, became involved with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His love for this new sport led him to the famed Grappling Arts Academy in Woodbridge Ontario where he trained under Syl & Dan Moroney. Rob then went on to become the first person ever to gain a black belt under the Moroney Brothers.
Rob currently holds the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Rob also holds the rank of 3rd degree black belt in Shorinji Ryu Karate and a 1st degree black belt in judo.
